Columbia College Chicago – Concept to Consumer
Curriculum Studio Course (Senior Capstone) 2023-2024

Taught over two semesters across six months in 2023–24, Johnny Diamandis co-taught a senior capstone course guiding students through the full design process—from concept to consumer—CONCEPT TO CONSUMER—partnering with NYC-based brand Boy Meets Girl. Diamandis oversaw the group assigned to the brand, leading all Zoom-based design reviews with founder Stacy Igel and providing industry-focused mentorship throughout. Coincidentally, he had just begun a collaboration with his own external client, That Gorilla Brand, which organically informed his teaching. This overlap enriched the academic experience by grounding the curriculum in real-world practice and deepening students’ understanding of contemporary product development.

Columbia College Chicago is a private arts and media college located in downtown Chicago. Known for its hands-on, industry-focused programs, it prepares students for careers in the creative industries through a blend of practice and theory.

University of Westminster – Because It's a Dirty Business
Curriculum Studio Project (MA Menswear, Online)

In late 2016, Johnny Diamandis created and led an online studio-based project for MA Menswear students at the University of Westminster titled BECAUSE IT'S A DIRTY BUSINESS. Centered on fashion’s environmental impact, the course challenged students to explore sustainability, climate science, and speculative design. Set in a future shaped by ecological collapse and regulatory reform, the brief asked students to imagine eco-conscious fashion solutions for 2036. The project emphasized critical thinking, innovation, and systemic awareness, encouraging students to redefine value in fashion through responsible, forward-facing design.
